The material in this application by The Open Guideline Project may be used for general informational and assistive clinical medical purposes. This application is intended for use by registered healthcare professionals only as it relates to the administration of patient care in the form of clinical practice guidelines across various health domains and specializations including locally relevant guidelines, policies and directories.

All referenced guidelines, protocols, assistive clinical tools, values, discriminators and indicators are for neonates and infants. Referenced information and values should not be regarded as absolute indicators of health or disease. Reference intervals and indicators should be used with caution.

The application and included content is based on the 2022 COIN course material, used in Malawi. It is a not comprehensive set of clinical practice guidelines or support tools but they have endeavoured to respond in the simplest and most practical way possible. The list is incomplete, but covers the essential requirements.

The application was developed by The Open Guideline Project to provide and disseminate information, clinical practice guidelines and support tools to assist healthcare professionals in Malawi in the treatment of patients at point of care. Information is believed to be accurate at the time it is created. Despite all efforts, it is possible that certain errors may have been overlooked in this application. Please inform the authors of any errors detected. It is important to remember, that if in doubt, it is the responsibility of the prescribing medical professional to ensure that the doses indicated in this application conform to the manufacturer’s specifications.
